I’m still feeling a bit poorly, and hopefully I’ll be feeling much better tomorrow. The weather is dreadful here today. There’s been a lot of rain: enough to call off a football match during the actual game. I can’t remember the last time that happened! So the last thing I need is to . . . → Read More: A few more prints

Ehm, me. I didn’t know that until I came across it, but apparently I do. We’ll get to that shortly.
I was going to try and work today, but you know something? I couldn’t be bothered. I was supposed to go to a party tonight, but I’m feeling slightly under the weather, and I really have no energy for it. I just want to stay at home and do nothing.
Plus I have something akin to nerd shoulder! You know what I mean, don’t you? The pain you get in your shoulder from sitting at the computer for way too long and from typing too much. Well I have a similar thing, except that my right shoulder aches from carrying my supplies bag to college everyday. I use my laptop bag, with the strap hanging off my shoulder, and it is stuffed full of art utensils, sketchbooks and general everyday things. I not only carry them to and fro college but I also have to carry them around with me all day, but it is carrying my laptop bag that is causing my pain. Of course, it really doesn’t help that I’m also sitting at my laptop for ages! Continue reading Who gets excited over old stringy stuff?

The problem is I can’t really start my final pieces in class, as I need to work on them over the holiday, and I can’t really take them home with me mid-painting. Not so old really, but I feel it has been neglected lately, even though it is one of my favourite pieces that I’ve worked on. I should say ‘she’ rather than ‘it’. I am referring to the Captayannis or as I’ve always known her ‘The Sugar Boat’.
You may remember that I told the story about how she was shipwrecked on the sandbanks in the River Clyde, after she collided with a tanker back in 1974. This shipwreck evokes many memories of playing on the beach when I was a child, and always being able see her from where I was standing or playing.

Collography is a process whereby you apply materials to a rigid surface such as cardboard or wood, which you then cover in ink or paint and subsequently run through a printing press. You can also distress the surface by etching into it, or by tearing pieces of it away.
For the purposes of my project,
