This page deals with my Coast Project.  I was given a theme to interpret in whichever way I chose to.  I decided that my interpretation of Coast would be to focus on where I came from, and where I no longer live, on the West Coast of Scotland – particularly around the banks of the River Clyde.  I took many ideas from my childhood memories of various places I played at, or day trips out and about with my dad on his motorbike, or with the family.  This is a very personal project for me, and makes me realise just how much I miss home, as I’ve been exiled for 13 years.  The images tell the history and folklore of the area of Port Glasgow, Greenock, Dumbarton, Largs, and Faslane.

As you can see in this gallery, I have experimented with various media such as using paint, PVA glue, bleach, quink; and material such as wirecleaners, feathers, masking tape, etc.   I have also experimented with print techniques such as monotyping, monoprinting, drypoint etching and collography.
