I’m a relatively new artist at the tender age of 37! I took up creating digital artwork just over a year ago and I started drawing roughly in April 2009. I pretty much started teaching myself with the aid of my friend and artist, Tim Shelbourne. He sparked it all off by getting me to do some drawings. Not being any good at drawing this was approached with much trepidation, but I embraced it and that’s when everything kicked off. I am currently studying an NC in Art & Design Portfolio Building at college, which is almost at an end, and I have applied to university to study a BA in Painting. I have attended a portfolio surgery at the university, where I showed them my portfolio, and am now waiting on my interview date.
Where I was almost a year ago, and where I am today is a world apart. I still have so much to learn, but I take on every challenge with gusto. I never believed that I would survive this course, but I have managed to stay ahead of the game. There have been highs and lows along the way – more highs than lows – but I look forward to the opportunities still to come.
I started this blog so that I could map my progress. However, this blog isn’t just about my artwork; it’s about everything: loves, life and me. I hope you will enjoy taking this journey with me!
