I did my shopping today. I always leave it to the last minute. I don’t know why because I hate shopping at the best of times, nevermind shopping at Christmas, but even though I do leave it to last minute, I pretty much manage to avoid queues. How is that possible, you ask? Well, I either go in the middle of the night, or first thing in the morning if it’s not a 24-hour shop. I was in the town at 10am this morning and left at 3pm, and I didn’t have to queue in a single shop! How awesome is that? I just have to get my mum and dad’s present and that’s it all done! I even got the food shopping done in that space of time. That was really too easy.
I think it helps that a massive new shopping centre opened just off the city centre’s main street, which means all the people were probably diverted there. Also, the weather has been pretty bad – all over Scotland. It was -16°C in many places last night and looks set to drop to that temperature again tonight. The snow has been causing chaos all over the roads and I don’t remember the motorway to Glasgow ever being as bad as I saw it today. I also had to dig my car out of the snow this morning as I haven’t moved it in a few days. So, I’m figuring that people will be holding off until tomorrow to get their stuff. I visualize panic and pandemonium among many shoppers tomorrow, and I’m glad I won’t be one of them, because that’s just not a pretty sight. I’ll nip into the shopping centre nearby first thing tomorrow and pick up my mum and dad’s presents, then get back home in a jiffy. Job done!
I haven’t created any art in the past couple of days either because I’ve been brushing up on my HTML and CSS. I’m working through SAMS Teach Yourself HTML, XHTML and CSS in 24 hours, which is a fabulous book! I’m about halfway through it – hour 12 – and I was even able to clean up some of the HTML on this site. I also managed to publish a dummy site including a basic hierarchy of 5 pages and sub-pages that all interlinked. That’s the first time I’ve ever created a site from scratch and published it. So I’m very proud of myself! Once I get through the book, I’m moving onto Javascript and PHP. I bought SAMS Teach Yourself Ajax, Javascript and PHP All In One today with the £25 book voucher I won from the college, and can’t wait to get my teeth into that. It’s my little side project – my way of relaxing, and learning stuff along the way!
I don’t think I’ll be blogging until after Christmas Day. I’m going to my mum’s for Christmas dinner – as long as it doesn’t get much worse weather-wise. I’ve made a contingency plan though, should I get stuck: I’ve bought Christmas dinner for here too! Nom nom nom.
So, I hope you all have a fabulous Christmas! I know I will either way! xxx

Heather, Merry Christmas to you too! Have a great holiday and drive safe to Mum's house!
Thank you Mark, and the same to you!
