I have officially been blogging for 6 months! Up until recently, I had blogged almost every single day but unfortunately time constraints have stopped me doing that. I couldn’t have imagined that I’d still be here or that my blog would have become so important to me. This has become my outlet and my second home, and I continue to be grateful to all my readers and commentators, without whom I probably wouldn’t have continued.
Anyway, enough of that. I just wanted to add a quick painting I created this evening. This is for Creative Composition where I explore visual emphasis through various methods. Here the visual emphasis is through contrast of scale, where I have tried to draw the eye to a specific item on the page. Other methods to be employed are through placement, isolation and absence of focal point, all of which I will show shortly.
I created this by cutting out tissue paper to the shape of the main object then gluing it in place. I blocked in the dark tones using Cerulean Blue acrylic paint then added the highlight in yellow ochre and white. After that I added dark brown tissue paper occupy the empty space on the right, then I added further dark tones using brown soft pastels.
Oh, and on another note, I have my new laptop adaptor so it’s back to normal business!

looks really nice!
love the blog btw!
Aww thanks Si! Hugs xxx
keep up the good work “haggis”
