It’s Nearly The End Of The Week…

…And I will be glad it’s over!  This week has been tough.  I’ve been at home for over a year recovering, meaning that I’ve done little to no exercise.  All of a sudden: boom!  Up at 6am, full days at college, get home at 5.30pm, study then sleep.  Not to mention the ridiculous amount of walking that has to be done within the college itself!  Seriously, my arms were about to fall off – and my legs.  I was humphing about with a toolbox and a massive A1 portfolio folder full of stuff, plus my bag for personal stuff.  I felt like the hump-shoulder of Aberdeen; all bent out of shape and contorted into weird positions, and all this whilst trying to get to a classroom.

The classrooms are all over the place for some strange reason and on different floors too.  Combine all these factors together with an evening class, study at home for the ridiculous amount of projects I have to carry out – all adds up to a very exhausted me.  Not that I’m complaining.  I’m not. I’m just tired is all. 

I love what I’m doing – truly love it! Plus the exercise is good for me and will build up some of the wasted muscle from sitting or lying around, even if I am still in pain, but it’s totally worth it.  I now have nearly all my briefs for the course – for the first semester anyway – but I now have a clear idea of what I’m doing for each class.  I just have one class tomorrow: Creative Composition.  I was given part of the brief today for it, which is painting to a theme i.e. pick an artist, or a style, etc. and carry out research on the chosen style.  I will be creating lots of colour studies and will be using these as part of the final outcome.  I will get more details tomorrow, but at least I have a fair idea of what to expect.  That means this very hectic week is coming to a close.  It will allow me to relax a bit, now that I know what to expect, and now that I don’t feel out of my depth…so far.  I have a load of work to do tonight, some of which I was working on today, and I have a great idea for one of my projects, so I’m pulling resources together and am now in the process of putting it into my sketchbook.  You will be able to see some of them later tonight.
